Church of Santa Barbara - Castell'Umberto

The Church of Santa Barbara, already existing in 1472, is located in the heart of the ancient village of Castanìa. At one time, its facade contained, inside a stone niche, a small statue of the Saint, now set in the prospect of the new Mother Church, in the center of Castell'Umberto. Inside the building there were three altars, respectively dedicated to Santa Barbara, San Gaetano and Santa Lucia. In the main altar, a painting depicting the Martyrdom of the Saint stood out. Of particular value, the spire of the bell tower decorated with Naso majolica stone.
