Church of Carmine - Ficarra

The Carmine church, once annexed to the Carmelite convent that no longer exists, stands on top of a steep staircase. The religious structure has a single nave and preserves inside, besides the wooden effigy of the Madonna del Carmelo placed on the main altar, two eighteenth-century side altars decorated in stucco and characterized by elegant Solomonic columns, one of which houses the wooden effigy of the former patron saint of the town of San Placido Martire. Inside the church some members of the Lancia family are buried.
