Church of Sant'Alfio, Cirino and Filadelfio

Built in 1607, this church is one of the most picturesque in the historic center of Mirto. The building's layout has a single nave with a side chapel. The main facade is characterized by a sandstone portal with images of the three Saints, while the side portal is a pointed arch. Other elements that distinguish it externally are the dome of the presbytery and the high majolica bell tower to which, in the first half of the twentieth century, a large clock was added. The interior preserves the monumental altarpiece depicting the martyrdom of the three Saints, the work of an unknown author of the seventeenth century, the three splendid seventeenth-century wooden sculptures of Saints Alfio, Filadelfio and Cirino on monumental thrones and a sculpture, also of the seventeenth century depicting Archangel Michael.
