Aeolian Museum of Emigration - Salina - Municipality of Malfa

The Aeolian Museum of Emigration of Malfa, on the Salina island, was one of the first in Italy, created at the behest of the C.I.R.C.E. (International Research Center for Aeolian History and Culture).

Inside the museum there are the histories of the Salina's hinabitants had to leave their land to seek fortune elsewhere.

Whit the island in the heart, Aeolians hinabitants reached Argentina, Australia, Canada, United States after the disaster of the filossera, an insect that destroyed the vineyards.

The emigration museum is full of testimonies of the time: tickets, passports, photographs, original documents that preserve the memory of the great emigrations, telling future generations an important piece of the history of the Aeolian Islands in the world.
