Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa - Rocca di Capri Leone

This contemporary sacred building opened in 1990 is dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa, queen of Poland. The dedication was decided in honor of Pope John Paul II, who donated to the community of Rocca a monumental painting depicting the black Virgin autographed during a visit by community delegates. The painting, enthroned on the main altar, is supported, together with a complex tabernacle, by bronze angels made by the sculptor Andrea Trisciuzzi. Other elements of the church are, besides the colorful stained glass windows, the wooden crucifix, the mosaic that immortalises the donation of the painting in the counter-façade, the bronze crucifixion of the atrium and the mosaic of the Annunciation placed on the facade at the foot of the bell tower.
