Annunziata Church - Longi

As carved on the baroque coat of arms positioned on the central portal, the Church of Maria SS. Annunziata was built in Piazza Generale Moriondo in 1857, following the destruction of the first church, which stood near the Borgo district, collapsed in the landslide of 1851. The facade is characterized by a pitched roof and a portal in local marble stone. The interior recalls the classic early Christian style with a single longitudinal nave and an apse. Of particular historical-artistic interest, the statue of the Madonna Annunziata, in marble with gold paintings, from 1534, a certain work of the brothers Antonino and Giacomo Gagini, previously preserved in the church of the same name which was destroyed in 1851.
