Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie al Serro

In the area of the Serro Coniglio district there is a delightful eighteenth-century rural church called Santa Maria delle Grazie al Serro. This small building of worship has been recently restored and offers the visitor a simple and pure environment, full of genuine spirituality. The exterior is characterized by the inverted orientation of the pitches of the roof with respect to the entrance and the exposed brickwork, while inside you can see a bas-relief in eighteenth-century stucco of serpottian taste (perhaps by Corrado Oddo) placed on the main altar and representing a Madonna called by the residents Peasant Madonna. Another important finding of the church is an alabaster base which, judging by the coat of arms carved on the front, certainly housed in the past a sculpture of the Madonna of Trapani in similar material.
