Cuffari Tower

Today only a wall remains of the ancient Cuffari tower, placed on a small rocky body close to the Favara stream. The origins of this tower are traced back to about 700 years ago. Located at the foot of the climb that led to San Marco d’Alunzio, its function was that of a lookout, designed to report any dangers or threats to the safety of the village. The tower layout was square in shape and with a single room. Until a few years ago, the ruin was more consistent seeing the north-east corner and part of the walls intact and it was possible to notice the presence of a slit.
