Multi-purpose cultural center and Museum of religious traditions

This multipurpose cultural center and museum is located in an architectural complex that has changed its functions considerably over time. In fact, it was originally a Franciscan convent to which the first ancient church of San Calogero was annexed due to Smottamenti. During the twentieth century it was first transformed into a hospital for the poor, later it became a laboratory and a municipal nursery and then became a warehouse. Recently, thanks to the Nebrodi Plus project, the property has been restored and converted into a center that can now be admired. The museum, divided into two floors, tells, in the lower one, the ancient history of this country through written sources and photographic finds while in the upper floor the religious and popular aspects related to the cult of San Calogero through paintings, postcards and the typical ex-votos in wax reproducing parts of the body.
