Madonna of the snow by Antonello Gagini

Inside the Basilica del Salvator Mundi you can admire the marble statue of the Madonna della neve, which was the first statue that Antonello Gagini made in 1527 in the Fitalia valley. The drapery falls softly on the body and Maria's face is very graceful. The drapery of the dress is now almost lost and only a few fragments of gold decorations can be seen. The statue was placed on a beautifully crafted wooden altar.
