Madonna and Child, St. Peter and St. Paul

Inside the Church of Santa Maria Assunta you can admire a wonderful marble triptych from 1530 made by Antonello Gagini and depicting the Madonna and Child, St. Peter and St. Paul. Maria's face is one of the most beautiful faces that Antonello managed to sculpt. Above the triptych is God the Father blessing. Below, starting from the left, reliefs depicting Jesus investing St. Peter, the head of the Church, the nativity in the center and on the right, St. Paul's fall from his horse.
