Villino Margherita

Villino Margherita, owned by the Marchiolo family, was built in the late 1700s and the church of Santa Lucia was annexed, next to a stone tower.

Most likely the structure has incorporated a small warehouse dating back to 1400 whose traces are evidenced by a small window in tuff. It was possible to access the estate through the staircase located along the municipal trazzera of San Rocco and the entrance was located on the west side of the building. Today the entrances to both the estate and the villa have been moved to the south.

The dedication of the church to Santa Lucia is due to Baron Vincenzo Marchiolo. Inside there is a valuable statuary of the Saint and an ancient crib from 1700 from Spuches Palace .

The name of the villa was chosen by the baron's daughter, Margherita, who died young due to an illness, of which a bronze bust is preserved in the gardens of the villa.
