Church of San Basilio - San Marco d'Alunzio

Dating back to the medieval period, the Church of San Basilio was subsequently rebuilt. The interior, with a single nave, houses the wooden statue of San Basilio Magno, protector of San Marco d’Alunzio, built in the seventeenth century by the Li Volsi family of Tusa. Byzantine frescoes of considerable value have been brought to light by recent restorations and inserted within the museum circuit of the Byzantine and Norman Museum of Culture and Figurative Arts.
