Motta district - Alcara li Fusi

The Motta district is an ancient neighborhood in the historic center of Alcara where you can read the typical urban plan of the Arab period. Moving through its alleys you have the impression of going back in time to when the center of the village developed. In one of the houses in the neighborhood, one of the oldest looms in the area is still present, with which a skilled craftswoman still creates the traditional pizzas: fabrics, with typical geometric motifs, made with recycled fabrics and also used in the night of June 24 to embellish the altars dedicated to the oldest pagan rite in Italy, the Festa du Muzzuni.
