Pastoral village Stidda

The village of Contrada Stella, Stidda for the villagers, is a pastoral village located above the center of Alcara, in the immediate slopes of the Rocche del Crasto next to the stream of the same name. This agglomeration is a very important site with a remarkable ethno-anthropological value: it is an ancient and archaic rural village consisting of small dry stone buildings with roofs that can be either in brick or in brooms of Ginestra. These are surrounded by stone walls that act as a fence for cattle. The Stella Pastoral Village is an example of the peasant-pastoral life of the origins of the anthropization of these places, the only survivor of the long series of villages that in the past dotted the Nebrodi Mountains.
